In the current game in environment we can see that there are many Theme deck types that are out there and there has been, more than ever before, been a great shift from the good old fashion beat-down to these new deck types, but are they really good? Does their speeds and versatility really compare to the swift mean first to kill type of deck that beat-down flaunts like a pissed off peacock, well lets take a quick gander to see what the current state for the Theme deck types are.
Some of the most notable theme decks range from Attribute Theme decks and Type theme decks. The heavy hitters for the Attribute decks are Earth, Water, Dark and Light. While each of these decks have some rather strong monsters their individual strength are unified by the Field Card Such as A Legendary Ocean and Mystic Plasma Zone. These decks can be rather lethal and each have very strong monster and believe me you dont want to the one duel your opponent once they get that Field card out. The effect of giving every monster on the field a 500 Attack power boast to being able to decrease the Level of Every monster you own can be pretty devastating to your opponent. The field cards are what really kill your in those kind of situations. But it's the field cards that help those deck types are as well their greatest weakness, because if you dont get it out soon your going to have to be going against the strongest monsters in the game with nothing more than a couple of 1800 monsters or a 5-Star 1850 monster (Dam you Legendary Fisherman!). The other them deck is the Type deck, the strongest being Dragons, Fiends, and Warriors. While there are many card that can help unify their decks under one theme once again it's that common them that can hurt you a lot. Having a theme deck is just begging for your opponent to play cards that hurt your theme a lot (i.e. Exile of the Wicked, Dragon Capture Jar, and Array of Revealing Light). It's almost like you have to work so much just try to combat the trick and power beat-down holds. But dont despair because your common theme is just as much an asset as it is an Alkies Heel. We can see that some deck types give you cards that play on each others power to help each other like Marauding Captain ability to protect other warriors and the ability to swarm dragons with Lord of D.. Lets not forget to recycle your graveyard with Soul of Purity and Light and Dark Necrofear. Yes I cant think of many beat-down cards that can do that can do the kind of thing that some of the theme decks can. The theme decks make a great opinion to beat-down any day of the week. They allow a breath of fresh air to the current game environment. They also can be quite quick and sometimes can compete with the swift action that beat-down has. I would say that you sure can compete with beat-down if your them is pretty solid. So if your have a beat-down deck and go up against a warrior deck dont be too cocky themes help to unify cards and make them powerful.
